Be Prepared to Move! Thoughts by Julaine Boyers, GLD AWM Director As we start a new AWM year with the theme “On the Move”, I have to consider, am I prepared to move when and where God says to move? Here are a couple of verses that came to mind as I thought about this question. Genesis 12:1 “Now the LORD said to Abram, go forth from your country, and from your relatives, and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you.” Am I (or we) ready to go wherever God call us? Are we ready to leave our families? The things we know? The schedules we are used to? The incomes we have? The friends and familiarity we have? I’m not sure I am. I pray God will give me strength. Joshua 1 – it says many times, Fear Not I will be with you. We never are asked to move alone. God is with us in spirit in all places at all times. We need to remember that. Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo,, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Let’s pray that our heart will be attuned to God’s heart and when HE tell us it is time to move – either in a relationship, time to share the Good News, move across town, move across the country, or move across the world in order to further His Kingdom - we will be ready to say “Here am I Lord, send me.” Ephesians 6:19 & 20 “Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel…Pray that I may declare it fearlessly as I should.” |
